The canal bridge and the Gravier esplanade
Almost five hundred metres long, the Agen canal bridge gracefully crosses the Garonne: walking across it together at sunset makes a memorable start to a date. Right next to it, the Gravier esplanade stretches shaded paths along the river, ideal for a stroll, a picnic or a drink on a terrace. Joggers, families and sweethearts cross paths there at any hour.
Town centre and Place des Laitiers
Place des Laitiers, a small paved square lined with half-timbered houses, is the heart of the centre: a coffee, an ice cream and the conversation flows. Nearby, Saint-Caprais Cathedral invites quiet reflection, while Place Jasmin pays tribute to the barber-poet of Agen. The lanes linking these landmarks hide pretty shops and a few discreet terraces, perfect for drawing out a first meeting.
Agen flavours and the Ermitage hills
At Baudin Market, growers from Lot-et-Garonne line up fruit, tomatoes and of course the famous Agen prune, to share around a chocolate or a pastry. To take a little height, the Ermitage hills offer a peaceful view over the town and the Garonne plain. On Lyad, members from Agen share their favourite addresses and walks; it is up to you to find someone to taste them with.
